German-Spanish Forum

The German-Spanish Forum serves as a bilateral platform for exchange that takes place at regular intervals in Germany and Spain. It is organized by the Bertelsmann Stiftung in cooperation with Spanish partners.

The goal of the German-Spanish Forum is to create a space for reflection in which actors from politics, business, society and the media from Spain and Germany can draft, define and discuss positions on bilateral issues affecting the future of the European integration process. The forum takes place every two years, alternating between Spain and Germany, and is complemented by preparatory and follow-up workshops.

Launched at the suggestion of the German and Spanish governments, the forum was held for the first time in 2002 on the occasion of the German president’s visit to Madrid.
