Gütersloh, December 3, 2024. Following the launch of her foundation at the beginning of the year, Liz Mohn has appointed the Board of Trustees. The board has now begun its work with its inaugural meeting.
In addition to the founder, the members of the Liz Mohn Stiftung Board of Trustees are: Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart (Chairman), Director of the Excellence Center for Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship at TU Dresden, Matthias Schulz (Deputy Chairman), designated Artistic Director of Zurich Opera House, Dr. Matthias Ernst, Managing Director of Evangelisches Klinikum Bethel, director and film producer Prof. Nico Hofmann and Karin Schlautmann, Executive Vice President Corporate Communications at Bertelsmann. Dr. Helga Rabl-Stadler, Special Advisor for Foreign Culture at the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, is an honorary member of the Board of Trustees.
The tasks of the Board of Trustees include advising, strategic planning and supporting the foundation. All fundamental decisions concerning the foundation are made in consultation with the Board. “The proven expertise of our trustees from the fields of politics, business, culture and society will enrich discussions on the future strategic direction of the foundation,” says Liz Mohn, emphasizing the importance of the Board of Trustees. “I look forward to working with the members of the Board of Trustees. They all provide expertise in the areas covered by our foundation, through which I strive to create connections for understanding,” continued Liz Mohn. Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, added: “I look forward to working with Liz Mohn and the other members of the Board of Trustees to help shape our future and our coexistence in a positive way. I would like to thank you for the trust you have placed in me.”
The Liz Mohn Stiftung, which emerged from the Liz Mohn Center gGmbH and the Liz Mohn Kultur- und Musikstiftung, focuses on four essential fields of activity: “International Relations”, “Creating Leadership Cultures”, “Power of Culture” and “Global Talents”. These areas reflect Liz Mohn’s long-standing social commitment, which is aimed at international understanding with projects such as the “Salzburg Trilogue”, the further development of modern approaches to leadership in companies and society, cultural projects to promote and support talents such as the NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition, and the empowerment of young people.
The Liz Mohn Stiftung is a non-profit, non-partisan and operational foundation based in Gütersloh. In addition to founder Liz Mohn, Matthias Meis is a member of the Board of Directors (Deputy Chairman). The managing directors are Dr. Jörg Habich and Nadine Lindemann. The Liz Mohn Stiftung currently employs around 15 people.
