The Swahili motto “Pamoja” refers to a special focus and a premiere of the festival: For the first time, an extra-European country, Kenya, is a partner of this event. On the federal level, Lower Saxony is the partner state.
The Bertelsmann Stiftung and the Liz Mohn Stiftung, along with a multitude of other nonprofit organizations, initiatives, and companies, will present their socially relevant projects and initiatives to all visitors over the weekend.
Through interactive presentations and discussion rounds, they will make their work and research findings tangible. Thematically, it will cover the areas of “Democracy and Cohesion,” “Education and Next Generation,” and “Sustainable Social Market Economy.” The “Center for Sustainable Communities” and the cooperation project “Engaged City” of the Bertelsmann Stiftung will also be present at the Citizen Festival. The Liz Mohn Stiftung will showcase its international work and initiatives for young people. All activities are under the motto “For a Vibrant Democracy!”
The Citizen Festival also offers all visitors the opportunity to get to know the official residence of the Federal President, the palace park, as well as the official and representation rooms up close.
Free tickets for entry and further information about the festival are available at https://www.bundespraesident.de/DE/buergerfest/buergerfest_node.html.
