On 2 and 3 July this year’s “Kulturbrücke Cantara” children’s musical will be performed on the stage of Gütersloh theatre. Initiated by the Liz Mohn Foundation and the Bielefeld Gesellschaft in Bewegung, 150 students from the Gütersloh primary schools Blankenhagen, Kattenstroth and Sundern as well as the Bielefeld primary schools Ummeln and Martinschule will once again take part in the performance. Young people from ”Kulturbrücke Cantara Youth” are also taking part for the first time. The extracurricular youth group in Bielefeld is a sustainable addition to the previous project activities in primary schools. Tickets for the children’s musical are now available via Gütersloh Marketing.
”Die Weltenspringer und das Portal der Träume“ tells the adventurous journey of a group of children and teenagers who discover a mysterious portal and are catapulted into fascinating and eerie worlds. In their search for a better future, the group encounters dazzling and equally unsettling places where play, abundance and darkness harbour their own challenges. But with courage, cohesion and their special powers, the children and teenagers face their challenges and make a surprising discovery. Will they find a better world?
In the ”Kulturbrücke Cantara” project, children and young people gain professional insights into various cultural disciplines. Together with theatre, dance, instrumental and singing teachers, they develop and create their own musical every year. “Art, music and dance promote the holistic development of young people in a unique way. By creating and experiencing things together, their self-confidence grows, they learn to take responsibility for themselves and others and discover how they can play an active role in a community,” says project manager Leila Benazzouz from the Liz Mohn Foundation.
The performances of “Die Weltenspringer und das Portal der Träume” will take place on Wednesday, 2 July 2025, at 4 pm (premiere) and on Thursday, 3 July 2025, at 9 am and 11 am (closed school shows), both in the main auditorium at Theater Gütersloh. Admission is 4 euros for children and 6 euros for adults. Tickets for the premiere are available via Gütersloh Marketing GmbH, Berliner Straße 63, Tel.: 05241/211 36 36, and via www.theater-gt.de.
