Artificial intelligence has the potential to fundamentally transform the way we work and live together. Leadership, too, is directly affected by this transformation.
To consider these questions from different perspectives, the Liz Mohn Foundation interviewed nine leaders from the worlds of politics, business, and culture. The interviewees include politician and economist Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, business IT specialist Prof. Dr. Doris Weßels, manager Angie Gifford, former labour union chairman Reiner Hoffmann, culture and media management expert Prof. Dr. Martin Zierold, film producer Prof. Nico Hofmann, communications strategist Frank Dopheide, bestselling author Marc Elsberg, and political scientist Prof. Dr. Karl-Rudolf Korte.
The discussions will address questions such as: How can AI help lighten the leadership load, and what are the limits of using AI in leadership? Which tasks can be supported, prepared, or even completely taken over by AI and which should continue to be performed by humans? And how can people be integrated into the transformation process in such a way that they are not merely affected by it but actively involved in it?
The interviewees offer a wide range of perspectives. This is precisely where the value of the publication lies: It does not offer definitive answers, but rather opens up spaces for thought and encourages reflection. A common thread running through the interviews is clear: AI can support leadership, but it does not replace it. Responsibility, sound judgment, relationships, and the ability to provide guidance remain central tasks of good leadership.
