General Terms and Conditions for Events
1. Registration / Admission
1.1 The Liz Mohn Foundation conducts interactive events.
Participants can be executives from companies, organizations, and institutions.
1.2 To participate in an event, you must register with your details as described on the respective event page.
1.3 By submitting the registration form online or via email, you are bindingly registering for the respective event. However, the Liz Mohn Foundation reserves the right to reject a registration, especially if the event is already fully booked. A waiting list may be maintained to allow for subsequent admissions. You will be informed accordingly. There is no entitlement to participation. A rejection does not need to be justified.
1.4 The registration is personal; in case of prevention, a representative can be named. This representative may be rejected by the Liz Mohn Foundation.
1.5 In the course of registration, the Liz Mohn Foundation will collect, store, and process personal data <(see data protection information). Required information (mandatory fields) is marked as such, all other information is voluntary. Registration is only possible if all mandatory fields are completed.
1.6 Upon admission to an event, you will be informed via an associated event website and receive the URL. There you can retrieve all relevant event information.
1.7 You agree to provide truthful information during registration. This applies equally to mandatory and voluntary information. The accuracy of your information is generally not verified by the Liz Mohn Foundation. However, the foundation reserves the right to check the accuracy of the information on a case-by-case basis and, if necessary, request corresponding evidence or other proof from you.
1.8 The Liz Mohn Foundation will also send you future information about its activities and publications, as well as invitations to events, by post or email.
2. Participation Fee
For some events, a fee is payable by you. The amount of the fee can be found on the respective event website.
The participation fee cannot be reduced if you do not wish to participate in the full extent of the event. Travel expenses are to be borne by you.
3. Cancellation by Participants
In the event of cancellation from an event, cancellation fees will apply, which can be found on the respective event website. Alternatively, the registered person can nominate a representative to the Liz Mohn Foundation.
4. Cancellation by the Liz Mohn Foundation
4.1 The Liz Mohn Foundation reserves the right to cancel an event, especially if there are not enough participants registered, or to make necessary program changes and/or replace speakers. The Liz Mohn Foundation will make every effort to inform you of cancellations or necessary changes to the program as early as possible.
4.2 If events must be canceled, the Liz Mohn Foundation will refund the paid participation fees. Further claims are excluded. In the event of program changes or the cancellation/replacement of speakers, there will be no – not even partial – refund of participation fees.
5. Photographs and Usage Rights in Connection with the Events
5.1 By participating in an event, you agree that the Liz Mohn Foundation may make or have made audio, image, and/or audio-visual recordings during the event. The recordings may be used (altered or unaltered) for the internal use of the Liz Mohn Foundation, particularly in the internal intranet, as well as for the external use of the foundation, especially on websites, in any film, photo, and print form (particularly for publications and newsletters), on data carriers such as DVDs and CDs, and for press and public relations purposes. The Liz Mohn Foundation is also entitled to use the recordings for publication in social networks (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) and to grant third parties corresponding usage rights to the recordings for this purpose. In this context, the Liz Mohn Foundation is entitled to edit the recordings – either itself or through third parties – and to reproduce, publish, and distribute the recordings in altered and unaltered form, without time and place restrictions, as well as to archive them (also together with other recordings) and make them available for download.
5.2 You grant the Liz Mohn Foundation the exclusive, transferable, time, place, and content-unrestricted usage rights to the works you create alone or together with other participants during an event – to the extent these are protected by copyright – including the right to make changes, shorten, summarize (especially abstracts), translate into all languages, update and otherwise edit, as well as the right to publish and distribute in other works. In particular, the Liz Mohn Foundation is entitled to publish, distribute, and make available for download the above-mentioned works and their parts (e.g., as publications, documentation, or newsletters, etc.) in any print/paper form, on data carriers, online, and in any other electronic form, including for print-on-demand (even in extracts). This also includes publication in social networks, such as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
5.3 There is no obligation for the Liz Mohn Foundation to publish/use the works.
5.4 You waive any remuneration from the Liz Mohn Foundation for granting the usage rights to your works and your consent for the use of the recordings.
