Imaginative worlds, rousing music, and a touching story about friendship and solidarity: With “Die Weltenspringer und die verlorene Harmonie,” “Kulturbrücke Cantara” is once again bringing an original children’s musical to the stage of the Theater Gütersloh this year. On June 17 and 18, 2026, around 150 students from the Gütersloh elementary schools Blankenhagen, Kattenstroth, and Sundern, as well as the Bielefeld elementary schools Ummeln and Martinschule, will take the stage together. The youth group “Kulturbrücke Cantara Youth” is also part of the production once again. Tickets for the premiere on Wednesday, June 17, at 4:00 p.m. are now available for public sale through Gütersloh Marketing.
The new play continues the story of the “World Jumpers”: A team of young adventurers sets out once again on a journey into mysterious worlds. But this time, friendship and solidarity are put to the test. Arguments, envy, and mistrust throw the group off balance, while a mysterious adversary heightens the tensions. On their underwater journey through fascinating worlds of sound and color all the way to the legendary Atlantis, the children realize how easily harmony can be thrown off balance.
The “Kulturbrücke Cantara” project enables children and young people to participate in cultural activities and take an active role in shaping them. Through school-based and extracurricular programs in Gütersloh and Bielefeld, they engage with cultural practices in dance, theater, music, and film, and collaboratively develop their own stage productions. “When children develop a musical together and bring it to the stage, they learn how important trust, cooperation, and mutual respect are,” says Leila Benazzouz of the Liz Mohn Foundation.
Performances of „Die Weltenspringer und die verlorene Harmonie“ will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. (premiere) and on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (private school performances), both in the main auditorium of the Theater Gütersloh.
